Rapunzel / Little Princess Trust

Is there a child in your life with a full head of hair?

We know it is a big change and sacrifice when cutting your long hair, so why not set up a fundraiser alongside it! That way, you are actually helping not one but TWO charities; creating a wig for a child in need while also raising funds for children with life-limiting conditions in LauraLynn! How amazing is that?

You can donate your hair to either The Rapunzel Foundation or The Little Princess Trust, who in turn provide free, real hair, wigs to both children and adults who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions like alopecia.

Next Steps:

  1. Choose where to send your long hair - either Rapunzel Foundation OR The Little Princess Trust
  2. Arrange a date for your hair cut with a salon. Prior to Covid-19, there was a list of salons who would cut hair for free once they knew you were donating the hair to either cause. However, this has now changed as demands for salons has increased. So the best idea is to contact your local salons and ask around who is willing to cut your hair for a good cause. LauraLynn do not have a list of salons on file.
  3. Please register your fundraising event with LauraLynn. Our Community Fundraising Executive, Liz, will be in touch to send your free pack!
  4. Set up your fundraising page and spread the word! You can set up an online fundraising page on JustGivingiDonate or create a Facebook Fundraiser. You can add 'before and after pics' to these pages. Be sure to send the link using your social media, whatsapp, and email so you can ask your friends and loved ones for support!
  5. The big day... the haircut! Most salons will cut it for free and then restyle your hair afterwards. You place your hair donation in a secure plastic bag (like a ziplock sandwich bag) along with your contact details and post it to the hair charity you chose (NOT LauraLynn). Please send your hair to either Rapunzel Foundation or The Little Princess Trust.
  6. Once you've finished raising your funds, let LauraLynn know and we would be thrilled to send you a thank you letter for your bravery and incredible efforts.
