People waving at the treadmill challenge

About the 24-Hour Challenge

Bigger and better than ever before, our beloved Treadmill Challenge has evolved into the 24-Hour Challenge—a dynamic and inclusive event where participants can choose to take part on a treadmill, bike, or even a rower. You asked for more, and we listened!

Held during Children’s Hospice Week, the event takes place on May 21st and 22nd, 2026, offering a unique opportunity to support children living with life-limiting conditions and their families.

The challenge is simple but powerful: each machine must remain in continuous motion for 24 hours. Why? Because families caring for a child with a life-limiting condition do so around the clock—there are no breaks. The 24 hours symbolise the constant care provided by LauraLynn in our purpose-built hospice, and the reality of daily life for the families we support.

As of January 2025, LauraLynn has cared for over 960 children and their families, providing holistic, compassionate care that helps each child make the most of every day. This care also extends to families, who often face immense emotional and physical pressures.

Still wondering whether to take part? Hear what past participants had to say:

  • “The vibes were incredible, I didn’t want to leave.”
  • “Very enjoyable, worthwhile event. Looking forward to next year already. Thank you to all the LauraLynn team who made it a super event!”
  • “I went alone and I didn’t feel alone for one minute.”

This event is like nothing you’ve experienced before—the music, the energy, the fun—all wrapped up in a powerful cause.

Register now—you don’t want to miss out!

Help us reach our fundraising target by raising:

  • €250 per 30-minute slot
  • Or €12,000 for the full 24 hours

Fundraising is at the heart of this challenge—it’s what makes the care we provide possible. And while our main event takes place in Dublin, this is a national challenge. If you can’t join us in person, why not host your own 12 or 24-hour challenge in your workplace, gym, or community? Every step, pedal, or pull helps us continue our vital work.
