We recognise that by investing in staff learning and development we will see a positive impact on staff and most importantly on our service users and their families. In fact creating a learning environment has been specifically identified as a people goal in the LauraLynn strategic plan 2019 – 2023. It is also linked to two of the three LauraLynn values – excellence and collaboration - that staff themselves have selected and seek to live by each day.
To achieve our learning goals the organisation has a dedicated learning and development team (L&D). The L&D team, who are all highly qualified and experienced professionals, are responsible for both the clinical and non-clinical education and training needs of the organisation. Learning comes in all shapes and sizes so. At LauraLynn we take a blended approach to learning ranging from short on line courses/videos to face-to-face classroom sessions up to professional study days where internal and external professionals are invited to attend and learn from expert speakers on a specifically chosen topic. LauraLynn also provides support to staff interested in pursuing more formal third level academic qualifications.
