FAQS - Brave the Shave

Would you shave your head (or beard!) and help raise funds for children with life-limiting conditions and their families? 

The barbers are closed and we’re all definitely in need of a little trim so why not do it for a good cause!  

We have created a Facebook Group of people like you who are taking part in this challenge. Join it to see how they’re getting on!

We are asking people to shave on March 13th however if this date doesn’t suit you, pick a new one and let people know when you’re doing it! 

This is up to you! Some people will shave their whole head, others might get their kids to give them a “trim” and we will even see some people part ways with their precious beards.

Visit  https://www.facebook.com/fund/LauraLynnChildrensHospice/ and wait for the pop-up to set up a page. Be sure to add Brave the Shave in your page title so we can easily find you and make double sure the end date is set to the March 19th 2021.

Facebook Fundraisers are the easiest way for you to fundraise. It makes fundraising from home simple! The funds raised are lodged directly into our bank account and there are no fees involved. Alternatively, you can request a sponsorship card by emailing me on cwhite@lauralynn.ie.

Facebook Fundraisers automatically end after seven days if you do not change the end date. Make sure to edit yours to end on March 19th so people have plenty of time to sponsor you! There will be a step by step guide on how to do this in the Facebook Group. 

If someone not on Facebook wants to donate there are two options for them to support your fundraiser.  

  1. They can give you the cash or transfer you the funds (via Revolut, PayPalMe, Online Banking etc) and you can add the donation to you fundraiser yourself.  

  1. They can donate directly to LauraLynn via www.lauralynn.ie/donate If they do this please ask them to put your name and “Brave the Shave” in the message box so funds can be allocated correctly. 

Unfortunately, we can’t issue refunds through Facebook but people can request a refund themselves from Facebook by following the below steps:

Select - I made a donation by accident and request the refund.
