FAQs - Ray D'Arcy's LauraLynn Half & 5K

We are delighted to announce “Ray D’Arcy’s LauraLynn Half & 5k” is taking place on Saturday 11 December in the Phoenix Park. This is first physical running/walking event in the Phoenix Park of this size in over 2 years! 

The event is taking place in the Phoenix Park, Dublin on December 11th 2021. 

Everyone taking part has to either raise €100 for LauraLynn through an iDonate page or you can donate the money directly on the registration page. 

You should have received an email with an activation link. Click that to set up your page. If you are having trouble setting up your page please email helpdesk@idonate.ie  

You will receive your pack in early December when you have raised or donated your target of €100.  

  • Race number with timing chip (blue for Half Marathon & Yellow for 5k) 
  • Race T-shirt (Finishers medal will be given at the finish line when you complete your run) 
  • You will also receive a race pack dispatch notification text notification to the mobile number provided at the time of registration with your race number info and event info.  

Yes, you can email support@myrunresults.com  You can edit your registration up to November 25th. This will allow us to dispatch the correct number and chip to you. If your run in the incorrect distance you will have an incorrect chip time result. This will also affect other participants overall placings in results.  

Yes, please contact raysmarathonchallenge@lauralynn.ie and we can offer you the option to 'transfer to a friend'.

  • There is extremely limited public parking in Phoenix Park, we strongly suggest not to park in the park. 
  • We have organised limited parking in Mount Sackville School just a short walk to the start line. 
  • You can also park in the city centre and make your way to the Phoenix Park via the Luas.  
  • If you can cycle to the event you will be able to get leave you Bike closer to the start finish line area. Event organisers will not be responsible for any loss or damage.  
  • Please be aware of local residents and their property.  
  • Use public transport where possible 

The Start and Finish line is on Furze Road in the Phoenix Park. This is a 40 minute walk from the main gates into the Phoenix Park.

Please give yourself plenty of time to arrive to the Park. Arrive to the Start and Finish line no later than 8.30 am Furze Rd. Please allow 30 mins to when entering the park to reach Furze Rd.  

Yes, you can go to the help desk and info tent that will be near the start and finish line area on Furze Road.

Yes near the Start and Finish line on Furze Road. Event organisers will not be held responsible for loss or damage to your personal belongings. Please do not bring high value items and valuables to the baggage area.  

Yes St. Johns Ambulance will be attending and will be located near the Start and Finish line on Furze Road and on the course itself.  

9 am. All participants will be wearing a blue race number. 

Shortly after the Half Marathon. Please do not start with the Half Marathon Runners. All participants will be wearing a yellow race number.

Yes, for the half Marathon you will have a water station at around mile 3, 6, 10 and Finish. The 5k will have a water station at around 3k and the finish. The 3k water station and the 6 mile Half Marathon water station will be the same point on Chesterfield Ave.   

 

No as this this a looped course you will need to able to hear important instructions. Other participants will be running on the same route and may need to pass you.  

 

Yes, as this is a looped course pleas be aware of faster runners behind you. Keep to the left at all times so faster runners can pass you on your right hand side.  

 

The course is made up of 4 loops. 2 large and 2 small loops. The Course will be marked in miles. Please adhere to marshals and blue arrow signs to denote the Half Marathon route. Loop 3 requires that you run through the finish line and carry on to complete loop 4 to finally to finish your half Marathon on Furze Rd. 

The 5k is 2 laps and denoted by yellow arrows and yellow race numbers. Please adhere to marshals to direct you around the course. You will run through the finish line and carry on to complete lap 2 to finally to finish your 5k on Furze Rd.  

Yes experienced Marshals from local Athletics clubs, Raheny Shamrock AC, Liffey Valley AC, Navan AC , Ratoath AC and Waterstown Warriors along with LauarLynn volunteers will all be on hand to assist. 

You will receive a finishers medal, water and protein bar when you cross the line.  

Yes there will be a photo wall near the finish line on Furze Rd.  

Yes, Last Lap Café will be near the start Finish line area on Furze Rd.  

 

Live Results will be available from myrunresults.com A race certificate will also be digitally attached to your race result. You will also be able to see finish line video of you crossing the finish line. This will be available within 72 hrs of the event
