We kicked off Children's Hospice Week with a roar at our dinosaur themed event.

On Sunday, 17th May, we began our Children's Hospice Week celebrations with a truly memorable Jurassic Adventure Family Fun Day. It was a massive success, welcoming 409 guests from 58 families, for a wonderful day of games, music, food and dinosaurs.

A little bit of rain certainly couldn't stop the fun. The atmosphere across the LauraLynn campus was fantastic all afternoon, and it was brilliant to watch families throw themselves right into the dinosaur activities. It was incredibly rewarding to see children so engaged and excited, with plenty of smiles all around as families made precious memories together.

Finally, as the rain arrived towards the end of the day, singer Aaron Rowe with fiddle player Ronan Stewart moved their set inside the marquee to avoid the rain. This resulted in a gorgeous, intimate acoustic set, to close to the celebrations.

An event of this scale is only possible through collaboration, and a huge thanks go to the amazing performers and partners who brought the Jurassic magic to life. Guests were thoroughly entertained by the fantastic School of Rock House Band, the brilliant dancers from House of Swag, and the brilliant team at Cork Puppetry Company with their stag puppet and archaeologist clowns.

The campus was completely transformed thanks to the incredible dinosaur roving performers from Profile Events, amazing replicas from Jurassic Park Cars, and towering inflatables from First Class Castles. Children also enjoyed sensory play with Messy Adventures, wonderful designs from the Face Painters, magical shows from our Bubble Performer, and getting to meet the lovely animals from Fine Oaks Alpacas.

Everyone was kept well fed and hydrated thanks to the delicious food, drinks, and treats provided by Adventure Catering, Aramark Ireland, Teddy's Ice Cream, The Lep Inn, and Bear Market Coffee. We also want to give a special shoutout to Verve, Select Hire, and TuffLoo for their essential infrastructure support.

A massive thank you to our own staff and volunteer team who adapted quickly to the weather, keeping everything running smoothly.
