A poignant day of remembrance and community in the Phoenix Park.

Annual Memorial Walk 25

On Sunday 14th September, LauraLynn hosted our Annual Memorial Walk in the beautiful surroundings of the Phoenix Park. Despite a really awful weather forecast for the day, the rain clouds parted to allow the walk to take place, bringing together bereaved families, along with staff and volunteers.

It was a wonderful morning that began with a beautiful reading by Caitriona O’Brien remembering her daughter Ava before the group set off on the walk. After completing the route, a minute of silence was held for all the children being remembered, followed by another beautiful reading by Anne Marie Dillon in memory of her son, Niall Gleeson.

Breffni, our Bereavement Coordinator, reflected on the morning: "I think someone, or ones, were looking after us."

The rain held off long enough for everyone to enjoy a hot cup of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate, supplied by a large coffee shop chain which shall remain nameless, which really made the day. The Memorial Walk remains a cherished and meaningful event for our families, offering a moment of connection and remembrance.
