With this in mind, LauraLynn House were recently profiled in the Autumn Issue of Cancer Professional on our integrated psychosocial care for children with advanced cancer and their families.

The piece, submitted by Dr Aidan McKiernan and Dr Joanne Balfe, highlights the impact of symptom distress, the benefits of timely and appropriate referral to paediatric palliative care and the merits of systematic identification of psychosocial risk.

An example of an integrated model of psychosocial care is also presented by reference to work ongoing at LauraLynn Ireland’s Children’s Hospice within the article.
