In September, LauraLynn, Ireland's Children's Hospice, opened its doors in Dublin to welcome supporters for an exclusive afternoon of guided tours. The event gave donors the opportunity to step inside the hospice and see firsthand the difference their generosity makes to children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
Visitors were guided through the hospice in small groups on one-hour tours, meeting members of staff and learning more about the wide range of services LauraLynn provides, from specialist palliative and symptom management care to music therapy, family support and memory-making. After each tour, guests gathered for tea, coffee and refreshments, sharing their impressions and reflections.
For many attendees, the visit was an eye-opening and deeply moving experience. One visitor described it as "both revealing and moving", while another said it was "inspiring and uplifting". Guests were particularly struck by the dedication of LauraLynn's staff, the peaceful surroundings and spaces such as the Butterfly Suite and the Memorial Tree.
The tours gave supporters a deeper understanding of the care provided to children and families, as well as the importance of their continued support. As one attendee reflected: "There are so many families that need help. The staff are amazing and do such an important job." The Guided Tours offered a meaningful opportunity to see how generosity helps create a place of comfort, care and positivity for families across Ireland.
