LauraLynn’s Family Support Team received the Clinical Team of the Year (Public) award in recognition of its commitment to delivering holistic, family-centred care. The team has introduced a range of innovative supports, including community-based services in Ballinasloe and Mallow, online therapeutic sessions, digital bereavement resources, and unique family engagement initiatives such as the LauraLynn Oscars and LauraLynn at the Abbey.

Rebecca Candon, Manager of the Family Support Team, commented:

“This award is a reflection of the dedication and compassion of the entire team. It acknowledges the importance of being present for families during some of their most difficult moments and working collaboratively to provide consistent, expert support.”

LauraLynn was also awarded Specialist Care Centre of the Year, recognising its continued growth and impact. In 2024 alone, the hospice carried out over 3,200 community visits, with referrals more than doubling over the past three years. The organisation has also achieved CHKS accreditation and continues to lead in education and research, including the establishment of Ireland’s first PhD scholarship in children’s palliative care.

Kerry McLaverty, CEO of LauraLynn, said:

“These awards highlight the exceptional work being done across the organisation. They are a testament to the commitment of staff and the trust placed in LauraLynn by the families it supports.”

The recognition affirms LauraLynn’s mission to deliver the right care, in the right place, at the right time for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
