The second annual 24Hour Treadmill Challenge has raised an impressive €138,609. The 24Hour treadmill is fast becoming one of the most significant fundraisers in our annual calendar and is an integral part of the annual Children’s Hospice Week Campaign which raises awareness of and funds for children’s palliative care in Ireland.
From 10am on 22nd May to 10am on 23rd May participants from companies, community groups, and the general public, as well as some LauraLynn families, came to our campus in Leopardstown in a continuous show of support and solidarity. In Cork a group of runners took part in a treadmill event in FlyeFit gym. Together all the participants made sure the treadmills did not stop because for most LauraLynn families, caring for a child with a life-limiting condition is 24 hours a day- there is no break.

The energy throughout the 24 hours was electric, thanks to our live DJs who kept the tunes going, and the amazing staff and volunteers who were cheering, dancing, and encouraging everyone on the treadmills.
A number of well-known faces generously gave their time to hop on a treadmill and spread the word. A huge thank you to Chris Johnson of Get Better With Chris, Lorraine Keane, Carly Mahady, Graham Smith, Rory O’Connor of Rory’s Stories, Devan Toner, Ryan Andrews, Amy and Mark Huberman, Tommy O’Brien, Davey Byrne, Jordi Murphy and Jenny McCarthy for their fantastic support. And to LauraLynn ambassador Garry Ringrose and LauraLynn patron Miriam O’Callaghan thank you for playing an important role in the event. And it was a lovely surprise when James Lowe dropped in to say hi too.
A special mention to our incredible corporate supporters—DCC, AskPaul, Arachas, and the Fitness Goose Running Club—who went above and beyond to support the 24Hour Treadmill Challenge.
The success of this event would not have been possible without every single person who signed up, our corporate partners, and the community groups who took on slots. Every step taken and every euro raised will go directly towards supporting children with life-limiting conditions and their families, helping us provide the vital care and support they need. Thank you to everyone who made this event such a triumph.
