Christmas has started at LauraLynn with Light Up LauraLynn

Light Up LauraLynn

The campus was filled with the sound of Christmas and lights galore at the annual Light Up LauraLynn event which took place on Sunday, November 26th on the grounds in Leopardstown.

The event was opened by MC Ray D’Arcy as he welcomed LauraLynn children and their families, staff, supporters and all our special guests.

Throughout the afternoon guests got into the Christmas spirit listening to some very special choirs – Hollypark GNS Choir, Kilmacud Crokes Choir and our very own LauraLynn Choir.

Alongside the beautiful Choir singing guests were entertained with some Christmas arts and crafts, a sensory winter wonderland run by our Music Therapists, Mark The Science Guy, Kids Classics, Senco’s Sensory Bus and a special Santa's grotto run by The Santa Truck crew.

Breffni McGuinness, Bereavement Coordinator at LauraLynn led us in a special reflection moment. Remembering those in our service and those close to us who have passed while celebrating life and Christmas.

As the evening darkened Ray was joined on stage by special guests. LauraLynn ambassadors Garry Ringrose, Fiona Coughlan and Padraig O’Hora alongside LauraLynn Family – The Murray’s from Cork all took centre stage for the Light Up Moment. Between Christmas lights and the guests candles LauraLynn glowed.

Following the Light Up moment our main act, Isaac Butler had the crowd entertained and singing along.

We would like to thank all our very special supporters without whom this event would not have been possible. Our MC & wonderful supporter Ray D’Arcy, guests and Ambassadors, Garry Ringrose, Fiona Coghlan and Padraig O’Hora. Verve The Live Agency, our event partners for Light Up each year. Verve are incredible supporters, and these wonderful events could not happen without them.

Thank you also to the many companies who’ve donated their time and goods, to our wonderful choirs and performers, the many stewards and volunteers who made the event run so smoothly. Finally, we would like to thank our incredible LauraLynn children and families for coming along and giving us the chance to celebrate together as a community.
