Update: Further Restrictions at LauraLynn

Published: 28 Mar 2020

LauraLynn Children’s Hospice is actively taking all precautionary steps to minimise the risk of infection with COVID-19.

LauraLynn

In light of the recent restrictions announced by the government in a bid to suppress the spread of Covid-19, we in LauraLynn would like to update you on measures we have put in place in line with these restrictions.

Firstly, we would like to reassure all of our service users and their families that we will continue to support you in every way we can throughout these challenging and unprecedented times. We understand that this is an incredibly worrying time for everybody and our Care Team will continue to provide wellness calls and virtual family support to help bridge this isolation.

At LauraLynn, we care for some of the most vulnerable in our society and the below measures have been put in place to make sure we protect those individuals and their families at all costs:

  • All visitors to our adult disability service, Willow View, have been suspended for the next two weeks (Until April 12th).
  • Our residents in Willow View are classed as a vulnerable group and are currently cocooning, adhering to the advice from the government and the HSE.
  • All short breaks and routine respite care have been suspended until April 19th.
  • We will remain open for Crisis Care and End of Life Care.
  • Our Care Teams will continue to provide virtual family supports and will remain in contact with our children and families throughout this time.
  • Further restrictions have been put in place to limit the amount of staff presenting for work on our campus. Only necessary and essential clinical and non-clinical staff will continue to work on site.

We appreciate your support and understanding at this time. Providing a community of care is at the heart of what we do in LauraLynn and we will continue to provide this care throughout this crisis in every way that we can.

Take care and stay safe.
