FAQS - 100K in JUNE

No, the goal is to do the 100km over the month of June. It is up to you how you complete it. Most people will be doing 3 or 4 km a day, averaging at around 25km a week. Do what best suits your lifestyle.

You can run, jog or walk the 100 km. This is your decision. If you’re worried about not being able to run it all why don’t you start walking and build your way up to running. This is a personal challenge and all you can do is your best.

That’s easy! You can use the personal tracker in the leaflet which comes in your pack, just write down how many kms you do at the end of each day. Don’t forget to post in the Facebook Group too and let us know how you’re doing!

As part of this challenge, you will be asked to set up a 100km in June Facebook Fundraising Page for LauraLynn, Ireland's Children's Hospice where you can post your distances weekly or after every run depending on preference. These pages are linked to LauraLynn and we’ll be able to see your progress.

Of course. Setting a goal of 100 km and then exceeding that goal would be fantastic!

Yes! There are plenty of apps you can download on your phone. I recommend using MapMyRun or Strava. If you have a FitBit or Smart Watch you can also use their built in tracking system.

Visit  https://www.facebook.com/fund/LauraLynnChildrensHospice/ and wait for the pop-up to set up a page. Be sure to add “100k in June” in your page title so we can easily find you and make double sure the end date is set to 1st July 2020.

Facebook Fundraisers are the easiest way for you to fundraise. It makes fundraising from home simple! The funds raised are lodged directly into our bank account and there are no fees involved. Alternatively, you can request a sponsorship card by emailing me on cwhite@lauralynn.ie.

If someone not on Facebook wants to donate, they should still be able to do so. Share the direct link of your fundraiser with them and they can enter their details. Alternatively there are 2 other options for them to support your fundraiser.

  1. They can give you the cash or transfer you the funds (via Revolut, PayPalMe, Online Banking etc) and you can add the donation to your fundraiser yourself.
  2. They can donate directly to LauraLynn via www.lauralynn.ie/donate If they do this please ask them to put your name and “100K in June” in the message box so funds can be allocated correctly.

Unfortunately we can’t issue refunds through Facebook but people can request a refund themselves from Facebook by following the below steps:

Send them this link: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/162031714239823

Select - I donated to a fundraiser on Facebook
Select - I want a refund for my donation(s)
Select - I made a donation by accident and request the refund.

You will receive your fundraising pack by post at the start of the challenge. You can check that your name and address are on the list for packs at any time by emailing cwhite@laruralynn.ie
