FAQS - 150K in February Challenge
Could you do 150 kilometres in February and help to raise funds for children with life-limiting conditions and their families?
It’s a tough challenge, but it’ll help LauraLynn provide vital care, while keeping you healthy too!
By joining the LauraLynn '150K in February Challenge', you’ll be making an incredible difference to the lives of the children in our care.
Any questions? Take a look at the FAQs below, or email Cathy & Ciara on email@example.com
The challenge is to complete 150 kilometres in the month of February all while raising funds for LauraLynn Children’s Hospice.
Not at all! The goal is to do the 150 kilometres throughout the month of February. It is up to you how you complete it. Most people will be doing 5km or 6km a day. You can do what best suits your lifestyle.
You can run, jog or walk the 150 kilometres. This is your decision. If you’re worried about not being able to run it all, why don’t you start walking and build your way up to running. This is a personal challenge and all you can do is your best.
That’s easy! You can use the personal tracker in the leaflet which comes in your pack, just write down how many km's you do at the end of each day. Don’t forget to post in the Facebook Group too and let us know how you’re doing!
There are loads of apps available in the App and Google Play Store. We recommend using Strava or MapMyFitness. You can also use your smart watch if you have one. LauraLynn will provide a tracker in your fundraising pack too.
As part of this challenge, you will be asked to set up a '150K in February' Facebook Fundraising Page for LauraLynn, Ireland's Children's Hospice where you can post your distances weekly or after every walk/run depending on preference. These pages are linked to LauraLynn and we’ll be able to see your progress.
You should receive your fundraising pack in the post before the challenge begins. We are sending the packs out in large batches from the middle of January.
An exclusive LauraLynn T-Shirt and a leaflet which will include a tracker for you to keep track of your kilometres.
Our T-Shirts come in standards men sizes ranging from Small to XX-Large.
Each pack comes with one T-Shirt, you shouldn't need another one but if the size is wrong let us know and we can exchange it.
Unfortunately we can’t issue refunds through Facebook but people can request a refund themselves from Facebook by following the below steps:
Send them this link: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/162031714239823
Select - I donated to a fundraiser on Facebook
Select - I want a refund for my donation(s)
Select - I made a donation by accident and request the refund.
If someone not on Facebook wants to donate, they should still be able to do so. Share the direct link of your fundraiser with them and they can enter their details. Alternatively there are two other options for them to support your fundraiser.
- They can give you the cash or transfer you the funds (via Revolut, PayPalMe, Online Banking etc) and you can add the donation to your fundraiser yourself.
- They can donate directly to LauraLynn via www.lauralynn.ie/donate. If they do this, please ask them to put your name and ‘150k in Feb’ in the message box so funds can be allocated correctly.
You can absolutely complete this challenge as an organisation or work group. In fact, it is a great team bonding exercise and lots of healthy, competitive fun. Together with your colleagues, you can join our community. It's simple to do and you'll be amazed at how many people will support you. If you would like to know more about getting your workplace involved in this challenge, email Ronan and Claire at firstname.lastname@example.org.
