Could you cycle 250 Kilometres in August and help to raise funds for children with life-limiting conditions and their families?
It’s a tough challenge, but it’ll help LauraLynn provide vital care, while keeping you healthy too!
By joining the LauraLynn “250K Cycle in August” Challenge, you’ll be making an incredible difference to the lives of the children in our care.

No, the goal is to do the 250 kilometres over the month of August. It is up to you how you complete it. Most people will be doing 8 to 10km a day, evening out at around 60km a week. Do what best suits your lifestyle.
Of course – that would be fantastic! If you are up for it, you can increase your target and do more. Make sure to let us know how you are getting on in the group!
That’s easy! You can use the personal tracker in the leaflet which comes in your pack, just write down how many kilometres you do at the end of each day. Don’t forget to post in the Facebook Group too and let us know how you’re doing!
As part of this challenge, you will be asked to set up a 250K Cycle in August Facebook Fundraising Page for LauraLynn, Ireland's Children's Hospice where you can post your distances weekly or after every cycle depending on preference. These pages are linked to LauraLynn and we’ll be able to see your progress.

Unfortunately, we have a very limited stock of T-Shirts and will only be able to supply one T-shirt per registered fundraiser.
Visit https://www.facebook.com/fund/LauraLynnChildrensHospice/ and wait for the pop-up to set up a page. Be sure to add “250K Cycle in August” in your page title so we can easily find you and make double sure the end date is set to 1st September!
Facebook Fundraisers are the easiest way for you to fundraise. It makes fundraising from home simple! The funds raised are lodged directly into our bank account and there are no fees involved. Alternatively, you can request a sponsorship card by emailing Cathy at email@example.com.
Unfortunately we can’t issue refunds through Facebook but people can request a refund themselves from Facebook by following the below steps:

Select - I donated to a fundraiser on Facebook
Select - I want a refund for my donation(s)
Select - I made a donation by accident and request the refund.
If someone not on Facebook wants to donate, they should still be able to do so. Share the direct link of your fundraiser with them and they can enter their details. Alternatively, there are 2 other options for them to support your fundraiser.
- They can give you the cash or transfer you the funds (via Revolut, PayPalMe, Online Banking etc) and you can add the donation to your fundraiser yourself.
- They can donate directly to LauraLynn via www.lauralynn.ie/donate If they do this please ask them to put your name and “250K Cycle in August Challenge” in the message box so funds can be allocated correctly.
You can absolutely complete this challenge as an organisation or work group. In fact, it is a great team bonding exercise and lots of healthy, competitive fun. Together with your colleagues, you can set up a Facebook Fundraiser and join our community to complete the 250K Cycle in August. It's simple to do and you'll be amazed at how many people will support you.
