We are delighted to announce that LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice, has been shortlisted in two categories at the 2026 Irish Healthcare Centre Awards. The prestigious awards ceremony will take place on Friday, 22nd May, at the Clayton Hotel in Dublin.

This year, LauraLynn has been recognised for excellence in two distinct areas of our service:

Community Care Services

Our first nomination celebrates our dedicated Community Care Services. This recognition highlights the incredible work of our LauraLynn in the Community teams. The LauraLynn in the Community Team is a community-based service with teams operating from our Hospice in Dublin, a base in Mallow and a base in Ballinasloe.   Our Community Team works collaboratively with services that already exist in the regions and complements those existing services supporting children and families in the region.   LauraLynn has a multi-disciplinary team working across the service providing care and supports to whole family units, including parents, siblings, grandparents, and the wider family. Medical care is provided along with additional palliative care supports including, Music Therapy, Play Therapy, Counselling and Bereavement Care.

Healthcare Initiative – Disability Services

We are also incredibly proud to be shortlisted in the Healthcare Initiative – Disability Services category for our project: The Children's Sunshine Home - Respite Matters: ‘A Model of Care that supports every child’. This nomination reflects our ongoing commitment to providing inclusive, high-quality, and family-centred respite care that adapts to meet the unique and complex needs of every child who comes through our doors.

Anne-Marie Carroll, Director of Nursing  at LauraLynn, shared:
"We are absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted for these two awards. It is a wonderful recognition of the hard work, compassion, and innovation of our teams across both our community children’s hospice services and our in-house children’s disability respite care. To see our 'Respite Matters' model of disability respite care and ‘Establishing a National Community Hospice Service for Children with Life Limiting Conditions and Palliative Care Needs’ acknowledged on a national stage is a proud moment for everyone at The Children's Sunshine Home and LauraLynn."

Following our success at last year's awards, these 2026 nominations continue to celebrate a period of remarkable growth, dedication, and innovation across the entire organisation.

We look forward to the awards ceremony in May and wish the very best of luck to all the fantastic healthcare initiatives, professionals, and teams shortlisted this year.
