September is My Legacy Month

Leaving a gift in your Will is a lasting way to support children and families across Ireland for generations to come.

September is My Legacy Month

LauraLynn, Ireland's Children's Hospice is proud to support My Legacy Month, a national awareness campaign that encourages people across Ireland to consider leaving a gift in their Will to a cause that matters to them.

As a member of My Legacy, LauraLynn joins charities across Ireland in raising awareness of the lasting impact that gifts in Wills can have for future generations. For LauraLynn, these gifts help ensure that children with life-limiting conditions and their families can continue to receive the specialist care and support they need at all stages of their journey.

Recent research commissioned by My Legacy found that almost one in three people (29%) would be more likely to leave a charitable gift in their Will if inheritance tax changes reduced the amount of tax payable by beneficiaries.

Brian McLoughlin, Legacy and In Memory Fundraising Manager at LauraLynn, said:

"This My Legacy Month, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who chooses to remember LauraLynn in their Will and help us to continue to care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families across the country. We are always exploring new ways to create a lasting tribute for those who leave a legacy gift, including memorial trees. It's a meaningful way to remember someone and reflect how their generosity can continue to grow and make a difference for years to come."

This year, LauraLynn has introduced a new Legacy Tree Programme in partnership with Irish Trees. A memorial tree is planted in honour of legacy donors, with trees planted at a lakeside location through Irish Trees and also at Dunsany Estate. The initiative provides a lasting tribute that reflects how a gift in a Will can continue making a difference for years to come.

LauraLynn will also host a free webinar, "It's Not What You Think. Your Will, Your Wishes, Your Legacy", on Thursday 24 September at 7.30pm. The webinar will be hosted by Brian McLoughlin and will feature special guest Oliver O'Shea from LawOnline, LauraLynn's Free Will Partner. The session will provide practical information on making a Will and exploring the option of leaving a gift to charity.

In addition, LauraLynn will launch a new Legacy Information Pack in the coming weeks, providing supporters with information about legacy giving and the impact these gifts have on making every moment matter for children and families in our care.

By remembering LauraLynn in your Will, you can help ensure that children and their families have the care and support they need at all stages of their journey.
