Published: 19 Oct 2026

September was a very special milestone as LauraLynn celebrated its 15th birthday.

Staff, volunteers, children and families marked 15 years since LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice first opened. We celebrated with a birthday donut arrangement generously donated by The Rolling Donut. There was a lovely atmosphere across the campus as colleagues, families and children joined in the celebrations in LauraLynn House.

Looking back over the past year, there has been much to celebrate. We started our 15th year with our Century of Light celebrations, marking 100 years of care from the Children's Sunshine Home to today's LauraLynn. This year saw some new faces join our community with rugby player Tommy O'Brien coming on board as a new LauraLynn ambassador. We finished 2025 with our annual Light Up LauraLynn event with Lyra taking to the stage last November.

We kicked off the summer with Family Fun Day, Children's Hospice Week and the newly rebranded 24-Hour Challenge, while continuing to advocate for improved access to children's palliative care across Ireland.

As we celebrate 15 years of LauraLynn, we want to thank everyone who has played a part in our journey so far, from staff, volunteers and supporters to the children and families at the heart of everything we do. Together, we continue to help children with life-limiting conditions and their families make the most of every precious moment together.
